Rip Out The Rotted Wood And Rebuild

When faced with a bunch of dry rot repairs, property owner too often want to hold off on making the necessary repairs. The cost of the work, the inconvenience to the property, and the mess of tearing things open are all valid concerns. Putting off the work may not be the best choice.

Getting rid of the dry rot and water damaged wood will do several things.

  1. Add value to the property. The building will look better to a buyer or tenant.
  2. Eliminate a growing problem, the problem will only get worse. Check out this video of water damage that was left untreated for four years.
  3. Peace of mind. Knowing that the moisture issue is taken care of will ease the mind.

Using an experienced contractor to do the work has its benefits. Experience in controlling dust and debris on the job site, protective barriers, and proper disposal of debris from the site are all recommended in the proper completion of this sort of work.

The contractor today will be willing to work for less than you may expect. Projects have become scarce and if you can find a good contractor you may be surprised what the cost will be. Get a free estimate.

The important thing is to move forward. Get the ball rolling before the moisture issue gets much greater.

  5. Is there a way to repair rotted wood, or do you have to rip all of it out and replace it with new wood? We have a few areas that can't really be torn out unless we tear out a lot more than we need to. Is it worth it to make those repairs? I saw that you said the problem only gets worse, but how fast does that happen?

  6. If you search "water damage" on Google, some of the first things to pop up are how to repair a water damaged phone. It's a lot harder to repair a water damaged house or deck! I know it can be costly or inconvenient, but it's better to get that taken care of as soon as you can. Mold can grow or important parts of the structure can be weakened. http://purocleanfl.com/Fire-Water/
